Chicken Curry(Indian style)

Hi Folks!!  Today, we’ll talk about a recipe made of Chicken. Chicken is one of the safest low fat meats and widely consumed around the globe because of its great taste.   It can be cooked in many ways as per your own choice such as either be deep fried or Baked, used in Soup or Salad or can be used in Curry too. In terms of curry Chicken curry is very much famous in Indian Sub continent. Here is the recipe in case you would like to try…

Ingredients:
·         Chicken Breast Pieces – 2
·         Potato(Optional) – 1(Large)
·         Onion – 2 (Medium)
·         Ginger – 1 ½  inch piece
·         Garlic Cloves  – 5
·         Cinnamon Stick(Dalchini) – 1(Medium)
·         Bay Leaf (Tej Patta) – 2
·         Red Chili Powder – 1 ½ tsp
·         Turmeric Powder – ½  tsp
·         Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
·         Sambar Powder – 1 tsp
·         Salt as per taste
·         Sugar – 1 tsp
·         Tomato Puree- 1(Medium)
·         Vinegar – ½ tsp
·         Cooking Oil – 3 tbsp (Preferably Mustard Oil)

Preparation Method:
Ø Cut Chicken in Medium Cubes and marinate with Turmeric Powder; ½ tsp Red Chilly Powder and Vinegar. Leave for 10 to 15 mins.
Ø  Cut Potatoes in big cubes and Onion in Slice.
Ø  Grind Ginger and Garlic to make a coarse Paste rather than fine paste.
Ø  Heat the Oil in a Heavy bottom Pan/Pressure Cooker.
Ø  Add Sugar in the Oil and wait till it turns golden brown.
Ø  Add Cinnamon Stick; Bay leaf and fry for 5 sec.
Ø  Add Sliced Onion and fry till it turns light golden.
Ø  Add Ginger-Garlic paste and fry till its raw smell goes off.
Ø  Add Marinated Chicken Pieces and cook it by covering the Pan for 15 mins.
Ø  Add Potato pieces and fry with the chicken for another 10 mins.
Ø  Add Tomato Puree; Red Chilly Powder; Cumin Powder; Sambar Powder; Salt and mix well.
Ø  Cook for 5 mins.
Ø  Add little Water and mix well.
Ø  Cover the lid and cook for 5-7  mins.
Ø  Now the “Chicken Curry” is ready.

“Chicken Curry” is well served with Steamed Rice, Roti, Paratha and Pulao.
